Tamira Thayne

Book Publishing and Spiritual Mentoring, Publishing

Hi, I'm Tamira Thayne. I help animal lovers, activist, and rescuers with their dream of publishing a book and making their voices heard!

Tamira Thayne's Bio:

Tamira Thayne is the founder and publisher at Who Chains You Books, where she publishes print and kindle books for animal lovers, activists, and rescuers. She is also the founder and former chief executive officer of Dogs Deserve Better, a national award-winning nonprofit formed in August of 2002 to advocate on behalf of chained dogs nationwide. Dogs Deserve Better was formed as Tamira sought her mission in life; she lived ¼ mile from a chained black lab named Worthless, who she watched suffer at the end of his chain for six years. Determined to do something about it, she formed DDB, and was later able to rescue Worthless and bring him inside to live with her. Ms. Thayne spent 13 years leading Dogs Deserve Better before passing the reins of the organization on to the next generation of leaders. She holds a doctoral, master, and bachelor degree in Naturology from the American Institute of Holistic Theology, and is an Ordained Interfaith Minister through the American Institute of Holistic Theology and The Order of Universal Interfaith Clergy. Tamira also holds a bachelor degree in Visual Arts from the University of Maryland, and an associate in Intelligence Collections from the Community College of the Air Force. Tamira served four years and nine months as a top-secret cleared Czech linguist in the United States Air Force, before spending fifteen years as a Graphic Designer, Art Director, and then manager of her own freelance Graphic Design business, where she specialized in book design. Ms. Thayne is the author of two books, editor of one book, and illustrator of two children’s books, with more in the works. She provides spiritual mentoring to animal activists and rescuers, in a field where compassion fatigue syndrome and post traumatic stress disorder are part of everyday life for those on the front lines and hoping to make a difference for the animals.
